Quality indicators and Strategie

Taking advantage of its rationalized operating practice and improved organization, the Hospital has considerably enhanced the quality indicators of its work - the average number of hospital days is now 8.49, the average capacity employment is 72%. The Hospital has 657 beds and 35 neonatal accommodation units.

 

 


In 2005, the Serbian Ministry of Health ranked the Regional General Hospital in Valjevo among the top four general hospitals in Serbia based on the quality of health care it provides to its beneficiaries. In the traditional competition organized by the Serbian Clinical Centre and magazine “Viva”, our Health Centre was also awarded the “Solar Clock” prize as the best healthcare institution in 2005.

 


Most goals have been accomplished. However, this is not the end. Healthcare institutions are obliged to keep pace with the development of contemporary medical science and technology, because all our aspirations must inevitably lead to the top-priority goal - satisfied users. Patient care does not only include surgeries and therapy, but also calls for kindness, gentleness and smiles. Much attention is paid to consultative work seeking to find solutions to the problems of addictions, as well as working with parents and children through the Advisory Service for the Young. The introduction of teamwork in Primary Healthcare Centres enables patients to choose their own personal doctors, who will be able to closely monitor their health, and who will personally know each patient.

 

 

 


Healthcare Centre Valjevo has designed the Development Strategy for the period of 2007-2012, in accordance with which this institution is getting prepared to place its services on the market and to offer them to patients all over Western Serbia. The accomplishment of this goal is the responsibility of Healthcare Centre Management, which has recently started working, along with its administrative departments, in the renovated building of the Pulmonary Department.
